Twenty-five different mandala squares, joined into one blanket. Each square is its own small project, worked in rounds from the centre out: bobbles, puffs, popcorns, shells, V-stitches, spokes, front-post, spike and crossed stitches, openwork and arches. Then a squaring round and the same five frame rounds, so every square comes out the same size. Work one a week, or one an evening, and watch the blanket build itself.
The sample palette is navy, mid and pale blue, aqua, teal, taupe and cream, a Mediterranean palette that suits almost any room. The photos show the style and palette of the blanket; the pattern includes a colour preview of each of its 25 squares.
