Lace Scallop Cardigan — Crochet Pattern PDF, XS to 5XL
A crocheted cardigan in an allover fan lace, with long sleeves, a single button at the neck, and a scalloped edge running all the way around the front, the hem and the cuffs. Nine sizes, XS to 5XL.
Why it looks harder than it is
The scalloped edge is not added on. It is the stitch pattern itself — each fan finishes as a rounded scallop at the edge of the work, so the front edges, the neckline, the hem and the cuffs come out finished as you go. There is no border to pick up and work around the opening, which is the step where a crocheted cardigan usually ripples and where most makers stop.
There is no buttonhole either. The single button closes through one of the spaces already in the lace. Beyond that: no zip, no waist shaping, no bust darts. One motif, repeated.
Sizes
XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL. The lace is worked in whole motifs, so each size steps up by one full fan repeat. The complete sizing chart with finished measurements is on the first pages of the pattern — check it against your own bust measurement and choose the closest size before you begin.

Skill level
Intermediate. You should be comfortable with chain, tall stitches, working several stitches into one space, and joining seams. If you have made a crocheted garment before, this one will feel familiar.
A note on blocking
Block the pieces before seaming. An unblocked cotton lace stays closed and the garment comes out smaller than the chart says — the fans only open once the fabric has been wetted and pinned out. The pattern explains how.
Wear it as
A light layer over a t-shirt or a summer dress, on its own in mid-season, or under a coat in winter.
