Why it looks harder than it is
There is no closure and no shaping. No buttons, no buttonholes, no zip, no pockets. No waist shaping, no bust darts, no set-in sleeve to ease into an armhole. The body is one repeating stitch you will know by heart after the second row — a bar, a space, a bar — and it grows fast, because half the fabric is holes. The solid bands at the front, the cuffs and the hem are worked in plain stitches and are what give the cardigan its clean edges.
