Christmas Teddy Bear — Amigurumi Crochet Pattern PDF
A large seated teddy bear in a green Christmas jumper, with a long two-colour hat, a fringed scarf and snowflakes embroidered on his foot pads. Approximately 28 to 30 cm (11 to 12 in) tall while seated.
Why it looks harder than it is The jumper is not a separate garment. There is nothing to knit, fit or dress the bear in — the green, the red bands and the snowflakes are worked straight into the rounds of the body as you go. That means no tiny sleeves to make, no neckline to fit over a finished head, and nothing that ends up too tight to pull on. You crochet the bear, and the bear comes out dressed.
The snowflakes on the foot pads and the little tree are added at the very end, on top of the finished fabric, with a blunt needle. If a stitch is not where you want it, you pull it out and place it again. Nothing at that stage is irreversible.
What you make Head, muzzle and ears · body with its colourwork jumper · arms and legs · foot pads with embroidered snowflakes · fringed scarf · long Santa hat with pompom and holly sprig

Skill level Intermediate. The bear itself is worked in simple continuous rounds, but the pattern uses colour stranding across the rounds and duplicate stitch over finished fabric. Both techniques are taught in the pattern with their own tutorial, so you do not need to know them beforehand — you do need to be comfortable working in the round, increasing and decreasing.
If this bear is for a child This bear has plastic safety eyes and two sewn-on buttons. Fit the eyes exactly as instructed, with the washers pushed fully home, before stuffing the head. If the bear is for a child under three, leave the buttons off and embroider two small circles in their place instead — the pattern works exactly the same way without them.
